Description of TESOL
Well I know that it is about three months in advance, but I just wanted to give an overview as to what this blog is going to be about and what I will be doing in Canada. In August, I will be taking a sabbatical to Toronto Canada. Why? Because there is a course that I will be taking that will help me pursue one of my major goals in life. That goal is to become 100% fluent in Spanish. So how will this trip help me? Well first I should explain what the TESOL program is. TESOL stands for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. I'm sure you are wondering why I am taking a course to teach Spanish speaking people English if I'm not even fluent in Spanish myself. I actually wondered the same thing when I first heard about the program. Then it was explained to me that the course teaches you techniques that can be used to either teach (or learn) another language. Once I take this class, I will walk away with my certificate in hand. It is an official certification that many employers are enlightened to see someone have. So I guess that is the basic information for now. But I will have much more when I am finished with the course. Until then Hasta Luego mis amigos.
